Playing in an ensemble is a great way to improve rhythm, chamber skills, sight-reading and just to add fun and enjoyment to practice. It is an optional group class that ASM offers for students who enjoy playing together. Lessons offered weekly in 45 min. and 60 min. sessions.
Once a month, students play their repertoire in front of each other and discuss each other’s performance from an artistry perspective and different music topics. This class is a one hour session.
RECITALS
Music is a unique gift that you can share with others. That’s why it is very important for young musicians to play for an audience as much as possible so they can build self-confidence and enjoyment of sharing music; and look forward to performance events as a source of pleasure, self-growth and self-expression. As part of taking private lessons, students are provided with many opportunities to perform throughout the year. For recital programs, students usually prepare two contrasting pieces that may include duets or ensembles.
Individual Theory Lessons
Individual theory class includes all facets of theory, such as sight-reading, transposition, harmonization, oral skills, written skills, with a focus on ear training, dictation and sight-singing.
